WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.— Following three rounds at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ind., the Duke University women's golf duo of Erica Shepherd and Megan Furtney placed in the top six of the Golfweek Purdue Amateur.  

Shepherd, who hails from Greenwood, Ind., posted rounds of 69, 70 and 74 to conclude with a three-under-par, 213, to finish tied for third.  A product of St. Charles, Ill., Furtney placed sixth with a one-over-par, 217, after signing for rounds of 71, 70 and 76.  

With three birdies out of four holes midway through her final round, Shepherd moved to one-under-par for the day.  The sophomore closed with a three-over-par score over her final seven holes to finish with a 74.  

Furtney had an eventful start Sunday with a bogey on No. 1, but came back to register an eagle on the 482-yard, par five second hole to move to one-under-par.  She was held without a birdie in the final round and had five bogeys to close the day over the final 16 holes.  

In three Golfweek Collegiate Series events, Shepherd placed first, tied for third and third.  Furtney registered a tied for fifth, sixth and seventh finishes.
