An Overwatch 2 beta will be arriving soon, updates to Blizzard's Battle.net servers suggest.
Ever since the Overwatch team announced that the next Overwatch League season would take place on an early Overwatch 2 build back in April, fans have been on high alert for any and all Overwatch 2 news.
For the last year or so, Blizzard has been pretty silent when it came to Overwatch 2 announcements, but fans of the game have found some crumbs of news that hint towards a beta announcement.

Twitter user OverwatchNaeri wrote, "Looks like the Overwatch 2 Beta will be out really soon! 'Overwatch 2.0' and 'Demo 2' has been updated to the Blizzard [Battle Net] developer server."
In a screengrab of the Battle Net developer server, Naeri shows update 2.00 has already been applied, and thus will be out sometime soon. Meanwhile the live update is 1.68, meaning that what is most likely an Overwatch 2 beta will be out soon.
This news follows previous leaks from Overwatch content creators after a secret developer meeting that "left them very optimistic for the game's future."
Currently, Blizzard hasn't spoken on whether these leaks are true, and there's been no official news concerning an Overwatch 2 beta. Despite this, players remain optimistic.
As many as 2,000 protesters were reported at the rally's peak on Friday. The group's demands included the immediate removal of all COVID-19-related restrictions, even though the government has announced its intent to remove them by mid-February. Organisers have told police that they plan to use civil disobedience tactics to press their claims.
Police began towing vehicles parked on Mannerheimintie (main street passing the Parliament house) when the protesters did not disperse when instructed to do so just after midnight. Police detained some 55 protesters outside parliament who had blocked traffic for several hours in pursuit of demands including cheaper petrol and the resignation of the government.
Protesters said they would gather again on Saturday at Citizen's Square, opposite the parliament building.
TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Super Bowl Sunday is more than a week away, but the Davis-Monthan based A-10 Demonstration Team is already preparing for the big game.
Maj. Haden Fullam, call sign Gator, will pilot his A-10 as part of an Air Force Heritage Flight flyover at the end of the national anthem in Los Angeles.
Fullam says it is a thrill to not only attend a Super Bowl, but to flyover it in a five plane formation.
"To be able to take these great airplanes right here, go show them off, and be able to do the flyover," Fullam said describing his excitement. "Take this team with us and show off the mission of our team, show off the mission of the Air Force and show off these airman and what we can do. Should be really exciting."
"It's quite cool," said Senior Airman Caleb Spencer. "I've never been to an NFL game so it'll be kind of cool. Sad not seeing the Bills there, but I think we're excited to go show what we can do."
Spencer is from upstate New York. He says the pressure is on the crew to have the A-10 ready to fly Super Bowl Sunday.
The Davis-Monthan based crew will be joined by the F-16, F-22, and F-35 demo teams — along with a Heritage Flight P-51 Mustang.
For Maj. Fullam, this is a much different assignment than the usual air show circuit.
"This is definitely out of our normal scope, doing flyovers in really busy airspace in a really busy city," Fullam said. "Then having that coordinated to a perfect, down to the second, timeline that we have to meet. So, there's definitely a lot that goes into it. It's a little different than our normal day to day operations, but nothing we can't handle. We're excited about it."
Super Bowl LVI is Sunday February 13, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Consulting engineers interested in overseeing the demolition of the old spans of the I-74 bridge have three weeks to prepare their proposals.
The Iowa Department of Transportation, DOT, which continues to oversee the I-74 corridor improvements, has issued its request for proposals, or RFP. The deadline to submit a bid is Feb. 23. No date was given for the conclusion of IDOT's selection process.
The RFPs for the actual demolition are expected in coming months.
For now, the DOT is looking for the consultant/inspector for the project.
George Ryan, manager for the corridor, said the contractor will determine the method of demolition, including whether explosives are used in any portion of the twin bridges' removal.
"The cost of the demolition of the old I-74 Bridges will be shared 50/50 by Illinois and Iowa," he said. "Each state has a program estimate of $10.825 million for a total of approximately $21.65 million for the demolition of the bridges.

AT&T said it had successfully completed its first milestone toward proving the capabilities of its 5G network solution to enable “smart warehouse” applications for the Department of Defense’s Naval Base Coronado in San Diego.
In a statement, the carrier said its 5G network solution demonstrated data throughput speeds greater than 4 Gbps with less than 10 milliseconds of latency using AT&T 5G spectrum and a private 5G core and Radio Access Network (RAN). This performance was demonstrated with commercially available commodity mobile devices at a testbed facility in Richardson, Texas.
In October 2020, the Department of Defense (DOD) announced $600 million in awards for 5G experimentation and testing at five U.S. military test sites, representing the largest full-scale 5G tests for dual-use applications in the world.
AT&T said that this successful demonstration of its 5G networking capabilities allows the program to advance to its next stage, which stipulates the provision of 5G across the 120,000 square foot Naval Base Coronado warehouse. With this initiative, the telco expect to securely connect smart warehouse application infrastructure to provide high-speed, low-latency 5G connectivity for autonomous mobile robots, video cameras, Internet of Things (IoT), and AR/VR systems that will enable inventory tracking, transshipment and other elements of DOD’s objectives for the test. Following successful completion of that stage of the test, AT&T 5G is expected to integrate with official Navy systems to enable Smart Warehouse capabilities.

The objective of 5G smart warehousing project at Naval Base Coronado is to develop a 5G-enabled smart warehouse, focused on transshipment between shore facilities and naval units, to increase the efficiency and fidelity of naval logistic operations, including identification, recording, organization, storage, retrieval, and transportation of materiel and supplies. Additionally, the project will create a proving ground for testing, refining, and validating emerging 5G-enabled technologies.
Meanwhile, the telco is also involved in an augmented reality/virtual reality training project at the U.S. Army base Fort Hood near Killeen, Texas. The objective of this project is to enable modular, deployable and secure 5G connectivity on currently available training devices, specifically the Instrumentable Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (I-MILES) and the U.S. Army’s Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS). DOD is testing 5G support for tactical edge use cases that integrate I-MILES and IVAS with Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) capabilities to conduct mission planning, distributed training, and operations.
