Final Fantasy XVI Will Be Getting A Huge Demo Before Release - Press Start Australia

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

It’s been rumoured/semi-confirmed plenty in the past, but we’ve finally got a bit of a clearer vision of a playable public demo for the next big mainline entry in the Final Fantasy series.

International outlets dropped previews for Final Fantasy XVI overnight, with press having sampled a hefty chunk of the game. Alongside talking about their experience with a tailored version of the early hours of FF16, they were also able to report that at least a portion of what was played will be included in an upcoming demo. The demo will supposedly last around a couple of hours, from the beginning section of the game, with some outlets involved reporting that it will feature progress carry-over to the full game.

PlayStation’s own blog post previewing the game writes, “We first sample the game’s opening hours, a flashback to a key period in Clive Rosfield’s youth that sets up what’s to come. (It’s this section that players will experience in a public demo which drops ahead of the full game’s launch.)”

Perhaps we’ll see this demo as soon as this week’s mammoth PlayStation Showcase, though that would be well ahead of the game’s release. More likely it drops closer to June 22nd so fans aren’t kept waiting too long after sampling it for themselves.

We played Final Fantasy XVI for ourselves earlier this year, saying “…the two-and-a-bit hours I spent immersing myself in Final Fantasy XVI has painted a reassuringly positive picture. It’s been in good enough hands this whole time that I’ve always felt rather confident in the game to really bring the single-player Final Fantasy experience back into good stead, but knowing what I now know and playing what I played I’m almost certain that this will be the Final Fantasy to truly wow the world once again.

Final Fantasy XVI launches for PS5 on June 22nd, 2023. Amazon has the cheapest pre-order price at $84 with free shipping.

Does the Final Fantasy XVI Demo Save Data Carry Over? - Siliconera

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

In the PlayStation Blog discussion of the Final Fantasy XVI hands-on session, it came up that the demo save data will carry over to the full game. Senior Specialist, Content Communications Gillen McAllister brought it up while discussing the features of Square Enix’s upcoming RPG. However, the announcement only told us that detail and didn’t reveal when this trial will appear. It only noted the Final Fantasy XVI demo “drops ahead of the full game’s launch.” Previously, Producer Naoki Yoshida noted in an interview that we could expect the trial to appear about two weeks before the game launches.

The reveal did tease what this initial Final Fantasy XVI demo will entail. It will look at early moments from Clive’s life. Part of this segment also came up during general preview sessions. This means we’ll see Clive when he’s younger and potentially serving as a First Shield of Rosaria to protect his brother Joshua.

Final Fantasy XVI will come to the PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023. There will be a six-month exclusivity period. There is also a PS5 console bundle with a digital copy. A demo will also appear for the game ahead of its debut, but there’s no set date for its appearance yet.

Stories from Sol: The Gun-Dog demo now available - Gematsu

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

About

War is over. War is just beginning.

Planetary Calendar 214. Four years have passed since the end of the Solar War. Our protagonist, scarred from the loss of his crewmates in the war, is re-assigned to the Jovian patrol ship Gun-Dog as it’s dispatched with orders to investigate mysterious signals coming from the edge of Jovian Space.
Unknown to the Gun-Dog’s crew, a new danger looms deep in the ocean of stars, threatening not just the Gun-Dog but all her crew.

Take on the role of the Gun-Dog’s security officer as you attempt to save the ship from an unknown assailant whilst navigating the paranoia, conspiracies and vendettas that break out amongst the crew. As camaraderie falls apart can you overcome the challenges that await?

The Game: A Love Letter to Retro Anime and 80s Science-Fiction

Stories from Sol: The Gun-Dog is a visual novel adventure in the spirit of classic PC-9800 titles. Featuring a vintage green screen aesthetic, Space Colony Studios strives to create an “era-accurate” game that exudes retro vibes in every way, from the text to the visual effects. As the Jovian patrol ship sails into the darkness among the stars, the players will feel like they are on an adventure in an 80s Sci-Fi as they solve the mystery they find themselves in.

The Story: A New Threat Emerges from the Void

Humans have long since freed themselves from the grasp of gravity, but they are still unable to escape the hold of war.

It’s year 214 of the Planetary Calendar. Four years have passed since the end of the Solar War and an uneasy peace persists throughout the solar system. The Jovian patrol ship Gun-Dog is sent on a reconnaissance mission to investigate mysterious signals coming from the edge of Jovian space. What starts as a routine assignment quickly escalates into a battle for survival as an unknown threat terrorizes the crew.

The Gameplay: Investigate. Interact. Analyze. Advance.

Utilizing traditional point-and-click adventure mechanics, during your time on the Gun-Dog, you can navigate various locations on the ship, examine the details of the richly realized backgrounds or talk with the different crew members on board. You will need to listen closely to the characters’ words to reveal important clues or duplicitous intentions and keep your eyes peeled for key items and interactive elements in the backgrounds that you can use to advance the story.

The Setting: Adventure in an Entirely Explorable Ship

The main stage of the first instalment in the Stories from Sol series, as the Jovian patrol ship Gun-Dog heads into deep space it serves as the setting for the game’s story. It has been exhaustively realized. Rich and evocative descriptions of the ship, including the constant rumble of the engine room, the bustle of the bridge, the silence of space pair with an extensive range of scenes that have been meticulously designed and animated in detail to deliver an immersive experience. Inspired by the best that anime has to offer the ship even features “Armored Frames,” mechanized, human shaped, weapons of war.

The Characters: Get on Board with the Crew of The Gun-Dog

All stories are about people and the cast of The Gun-Dog bring the story to life, so much so that their charm and charisma convinced the team at Astrolabe Games to board the Gun-Dog and sign up to be the publisher. From the elegant yet distant Captain Bartermews, to the bubbly Lieutenant Commander Cassandra Quinn, to the assertive and domineering Chief Mackenzie Cathays, The Gun-Dog features an extensive cast of characters for you to meet. Each crew member has a distinct personality, role and history. Get to know them and their quirks and decide whether to work with or against them to unravel the mystery that lies at the story’s heart.

Recalling Rs 2,000 currency notes not a DeMo shock, but the devil is in the data - Moneycontrol

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

On November 8, 2016, the government “demonetised” old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, setting in motion perhaps the world’s biggest such exercise in the modern era to retire and replace old currency notes. On May 19, 2023 the Reserve Bank of India (RBI’s) decided to withdraw Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes from circulation. There is a major difference between the demonetisation of 2016 and the currency withdrawal of 2023. Demonetisation was a policy shock, because it wiped out the legal status of 85 percent of the banknotes in circulation, resulting in cash shortage. During demonetisation, the full and free convertibility of bank current and savings account deposits into cash stood suspended. A firm or an individual may have had money in the bank, but could not withdraw as much of it as desired in cash. This affected the economy. Consumption spending, the very edifice of the India growth story, dramatically collapsed for about a quarter. India’s rate of growth dropped to 6.1 percent in January-March 2016-17, from 9.1 percent in the year-ago period (added) , mirroring the impact that the sudden flush out of high-value notes and restricted cash access had had on household spending and corporate investment. Private Final Consumption Expenditure (PFCE), a metric to measure household spending, fell to 58.7 percent of GDP (in current prices) during January-March 2016-17, from 61.6 percent in the previous quarter and 59.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2015-16. The difference this time is that around Rs 3.62 lakh crore worth of currency, or about 10.8 percent of banknotes in circulation as of March 31, 2023, will be “withdrawn” from circulation, not banned or scrapped as was the case with demonetisation. To that end, the impact on people’s consumption spending will be limited. But, how much of the Rs 3.62 lakh crore of Rs 2,000 notes in circulation is held by the public? Also, many legitimate transactions take place in large amounts of cash every day. For example, at petrol stations and farm mandis. Will such entities be allowed to exchange more than the Rs 20,000 cap in Rs 2,000 notes at banks? The answer to the first question will offer a critical insight. Rs 3.62 lakh crore is six times the annual budget of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for 2023-24. The RBI says that “it has been observed that this denomination (Rs 2,000) is not commonly used for transactions”. Since the notes will continue to be legal tender even after September 30, 2023, it will be interesting to see how many of these are returned to banks, for that will indicate if a substantial amount was being hoarded in cash to carry out transactions outside of regulatory boundaries to evade taxes. The answer to the second question could throw interesting insights. Such organisations may be more inclined to dispose of their cash in Rs 2,000 notes through transactions, rather than exchanging these at banks, demonstrating a “passing the buck” syndrome. Also, it will be interesting to see how much of the cash is exchanged for smaller denominations, and how much is deposited into bank accounts, as that could help gauge people’s inclination to hold cash.

Flight attendant stuns with animated safety demo: 'Employee of the decade' - New York Post

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

A flight … and a show!

TikTok user Joey MacNeer captured a JetBlue Airways flight attendant’s animated safety demonstration that has the internet thinking he should swap the runway for Broadway.

In a 20-second clip that’s already landed 1.2 million views since it was posted Thursday, the flight attendant performs a can’t-miss dance routine, using exaggerated movements to put on his safety vest.

With smooth footwork and mime-like wide eyes, he ends the show by sliding into the attendants’ work station, disappearing behind it at the mention of the plane’s two emergency exits.

Passengers seemed to stay pretty quiet, though at least one woman can be heard laughing.

“Fly JetBlue also give this guy a raise,” MacNeer captioned the video.

Speaking with Insider, MacNeer said flight attendant Peter “made every second of the flight” from Newark to Tampa “great.”

“He needs to be the face of airlines for every and any commercial,” he added to the outlet.

The Post has contacted MacNeer and JetBlue for comment.

TikTok commenters praised the presentation.

“How did people not laugh I’d be hollering,” one person shared.

“Bro thinks he’s in a play in broadway,” another declared.

“The one man show called ‘Airplane Safety,’ I hear it’s gonna be big,” a third proclaimed, naming the performance.

“JetBlue The Musical,” another quipped.

Someone else claimed: “That’s a great employee who’s fed up with his job.”

“That’s the only way I’d be able to pay attention and remember the instructions,” another said of the dazzling demonstration.

“Give him a raise already!!” another person echoed MacNeer’s plea.

“Employee of the decade,” someone simply stated.

Unfortunately, New Yorkers may have fewer chances to see Peter perform live.

JetBlue recently announced it will cut departures from NYC airports by 10% this summer, blaming the Federal Aviation Administration for not hiring enough air traffic controllers.

Unreal Engine 5.2 Burned Dead Forest Tech Demo Released - DSOGaming

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

MAWI United has released a brand new amazing Unreal Engine 5.2 tech demo that PC users can download right now. This tech demo features a 2sqkm procedural burned forest that users can freely roam.

According to the team, this tech demo takes full advantage of Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen and Nanite techs. The entire 2sqkm forest is made up of billions of Nanite triangles of custom photogrammetry scanned trees, plants, rocks, debris etc.

Similar to the previous tech demos, this new one pushes current-gen hardware to its limits. For instance, NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 was unable to offer constant 60fps in 4K on the Unreal Engine 5.1 Dune Desert Landscape Demo.

You can download this new UE5.2 tech demo from here. Those interested can also download MAWI United’s previous demos from herehere and here.

Have fun!
