DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- As we enter tornado season, it's important for homeowners to know what to do if they lose power during severe weather.
Wiregrass Electric workers demonstrating how electricity runs through equipment
Fortunately, Wiregrass Electric Cooperative has the perfect tool for educating the public: a demonstration trailer they can take to events like Tuesday's Rotary Club meeting.
The demonstration takes anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.
Workers explain how each source of electricity works.
It also educates the public on what to do when they lose power.
This demonstration also makes it easier for lineman to do their jobs.
"It's real important because we're teaching them about safety out in the public, when power lines are down, when storms come through, what to look for, what to stay away from and we're also teaching them what we have to do to stay safe also," Wiregrass Electric Cooperative representative Johnny Hudson said.
