depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Full demolition permits have been filed for 63 Pitt Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. According to the filing, the site is owned by Damien Smith under the 63 Pitt Street LLC and currently houses a five-story residential building with 16 units. The 55-foot-tall structure was built in 1920.

A proposal for the 2,517-square-foot lot was filed last year and details a 13-story, 48,445-square-foot residential building with 38,243 square feet designated for residential space. The development, designed by Frank Quatela Architects, will have 52 units, most likely rentals with an average unit scope of 735 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.

No renderings or an estimated completion date have been released.

63 Pitt Street is located between Delancey Street and Rivington Street. The lot is six blocks east of the Delancey Street-Essex Street subway station, serviced by the F, M, J, and Z trains.

H&O Engineering is listed as the applicant of record.
