DeKALB - Safe Passage, Inc., DeKalb County's only domestic violence prevention and survivor advocacy center is one step closer to moving into a new home.
The former DeKalb Clinic building at 217 Franklin Street in DeKalb was demolished Monday, paving way for a new building which will house all of Safe Passage's programming under one roof.
The organization purchased the property with the help of an anonymous donor after it was sold to the shelter by Pappas Development back in April 2019 for $155,000.
"Today, the old medical clinic comes down to allow for the building of our new home!" wrote Safe Passage staff in a social media post Monday.
