CLEVELAND, Ohio – Chef Eric Wells will hold a virtual cooking demonstration to support students at Cuyahoga Community College’s Hospitality Management Center.
The “Chase the Flavor” event is scheduled via Zoom at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29.
An ingredient list will be emailed to participants on Monday, Jan. 25, so they can buy supplies in advance. You can still sign up after that date.
Wells - executive chef and owner of Skye LaRae’s Culinary Services in Cleveland - will provide the recipe and instructions during the program while guiding cooks at home through the meal-making process. Wells is a personal chef, caterer and culinary instructor, and a 2004 graduate of the International Culinary Arts and Sciences Institute in Chesterland.
Wells will be making chicken and andouille sausage gumbo.
“With Mardi Gras coming up, I think it will be a great little thing to do,” he said. “It’s going to have a kick to it.”
Cost is $20 and benefits a scholarship fund. Cuyahoga Community College Foundation organized the event to help reduce financial barriers for students.
The Hospitality Management Center trains students for cooking and other jobs in the culinary world.
