UTICA — The city of Utica’s Department of Public Works is undertaking two major demolition projects, Mayor Robert Palmieri announced.
The DPW is scheduled to demolish the former Cornhill Senior Center located at 313 James St., as wel as 10 and 20 Barnes Ave.
Demolition of the senior center was scheduled to be begin Monday, the day the mayor made his announcement.
The demolition on Barnes Avenue is tentatively scheduled to begin in March, based on weather conditions.
The city, Palmieri said, “will be taking down eye sores in our own community as it will enhance the quality of life for our residents.”
