Registration starts noon Thursday, Jan. 21, for six more coronavirus vaccination clinics in Riverside County.
Having received 26,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week, county officials plan to distribute 3,900 of those doses through clinics in Perris, Lake Elsinore, and Indio for residents in Phase 1A (all tiers) and 1B (tier 1), which includes anyone 65 and older. The rest of the 26,000 doses are being distributed to private providers, said county spokeswoman Brooke Federico.
The dates and locations are:
- Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23, at The Diamond stadium, 500 Diamond Drive, Lake Elsinore. The Friday clinic is only for those 65 and older.
- Sunday, Jan. 24, and Monday, Jan. 25, at the Perris fairgrounds, 18700 Lake Perris Drive. The Monday clinic is only for those 65 and older.
- Saturday, Jan. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 24, in the Fullenwider Auditorium at the Indio Fairgrounds, 46350 Arabia St.
The clinics will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Appointments can be made online at www.ruhealth.org/covid-19-vaccine. Those 65 and older who need help registering, can call 211.
Vaccines will be given free of change, but those getting vaccinated must have appointments and register before arriving. They also must show proof of eligibility — a work badge, business ID or a letter of proof from their employer — and health insurance information will be requested, but not required. Those 65 and older must bring proof of their age, such as a driver’s license.
Editor’s note: This story has been updated to clarify how the 26,000 vaccine doses received by Riverside County this week are being distributed. Those not being given at the six county clinics are being distributed to private providers, county spokeswoman Brooke Federico said.
