CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Carolina Beach has applied for a demolition permit to remove the mini-golf course on the Boardwalk.

Town of Carolina Beach Planning Director Jeremy Hardison says the course is outdated and after being built in the 1960s, he says there have been little to no upgrades on the course.

According to Hardison, the site will likely be developed in the future but it will serve as additional space for the amusement park this summer.

Demolition could begin as early as the beginning of next week.
