Ducks Extend Unbeaten Streak to Six - GoDucks.com

depolitikblog.blogspot.com
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon and Utah played to a 1-1 draw Friday afternoon at Pape' Field.

The Ducks extended their unbeaten streak to six matches and have allowed just two goals during that span.

Chai Cortez

How it Happened: Chai Cortez broke free in the Utah penalty box in the 32nd minute and was brought down from behind by a couple of Ute defenders, resulting in a penalty kick.

Zoe Hasenauer beat Utah goalkeeper SJ Edwards on a low drive to the left side of the net to convert the penalty kick and stake Oregon (5-3-4, 3-2-2) to a 1-0 lead.

Ali Schinko scored from five yards out in the 76th minute for Utah (2-7-3, 1-4-2) to knot the match at 1-1. Neither team scored in the last 14 minutes of regulation or overtime.

Both teams had second half goals disallowed due to an offside call.

Lexi Romero came on as a substitute for the Ducks in the 29th minute and moments later had a good look from close range, but Edwards was able to make the save for the Utes.

Zoe Hasenauer

Who Stood Out: Hasenauer had a season-high five shots as Oregon matched its season high with 18, to Utah's 14. Ally Cook and True Dydasco each attempted four shots for the Ducks.

What It Means: Utah's second half goal ended the second-longest scoreless streak in UO program history. The Ducks did not allow a goal for 471:54 dating back to the March 12 Arizona State game. Leah Freeman played all 471:54 minutes, which is the individual goalkeeper record for scoreless minutes.

Notable: Oregon's 3-2-2 Pac-12 record is its best seven-game mark in league games since the 2006 team opened at 4-1-2.
Hasenauer moved into a tie for eighth in UO career shots with Beth Bowler (1998-01) with 114.

Quotable:
Head coach Graeme Abel:
"We felt as though in the first half we had a decent handle on the game. Probably came out in the second half and let the game get a little too stretched. We'll go back and look at the tape and see where we felt we lost control of the game and make those adjustments for Sunday."

Up Next: Oregon hosts Colorado Sunday at 11 a.m. (Pac-12 Live Stream).
