Konami has revealed more details about the initial launch of eFootball.

In case you missed it, Konami announced last month that it’s renaming its football series PES to eFootball, and making it free-to-play. The game’s initial launch is set for sometime this autumn, with a subset of features and a handful of teams.

In a new Twitter FAQ, Konami addressed some concerns, and answered a few of the more common questions. First, Konami explained that the version going live this autumn should be thought of as more of a demo. Everything in this initial build will as a result be completely free. Microtransactions and add-on purchases will become available once the rest of the content arrives.

One of those modes is Master League, which Konami confirmed will arrive at a later date as a premium add-on. The company previously said that much of the game’s purchasable content will be optional, to allow players to build the game they want.

One of the more popular aspects for PES has been option files, and the edit mode. Players relied on those to install packs of official teams and leagues not covered by the game’s limited roster. Those will continue to exist in eFootball, set to arrive on PC and PlayStation consoles after launch, but not on Xbox.

Konami is also planning to launch eFootball on mobile devices, offering cross-play between all platforms. This is one area in particular that has hardcore fans worried that the visual presentation on next-gen consoles will be hampered as a result. Konami addressed this in multiple ways, saying that the game will take “full” advantage of the hardware of each platform.

As for visual quality, the publisher said the mobile version will not look as good as PS5/Xbox and PC. And, for those worried about the match quality when playing against mobile players, Konami revealed that you’ll be able to filter out certain locations and platforms.
