CBS won total viewership for Friday thanks to airings of ”S.W.A.T.,“ ”Fire Country“ and ”Blue Bloods“
Fox has claimed another ratings victory with “Friday Night Smackdown,” per Nielsen’s official live plus same-day data. Just like last week, the network won in the coveted 18-49 demo with a score of 0.52 for the live sports event, which aired for two hours and drew 2.2 million viewers.
Meanwhile, CBS won in total average viewership for the night, thanks to its procedurals “S.W.A.T.,” “Fire Country” and “Blue Bloods.” The network drew 5.2 million total average viewers, with “Blue Bloods” winning the night in viewership across networks and hours with 5.9 million.

Here’s how primetime broke down across the major broadcast networks:
After Fox, CBS was second in ratings, with 0.43 in the demo. At 8 p.m., an airing of “S.W.A.T.” netted 4.4 million viewers on average, as well as 0.4 in ratings. An hour later, “Fire Country” turned up the temperature with 0.45 in ratings and a total average viewership of 5.3 million. Closing out the night at 10 p.m. was an episode of “Blue Bloods,” which received 0.45 in the demo.
Second in total average viewers was ABC, which was also third in ratings. The network scored a 0.35 in the key demo and attracted 2.8 million total average viewers. “Shark Tank” closed the deal with 0.48 in the demo and 3.3 million viewers at 8 p.m. ABC’s long-running primetime news program, “20/20,” received 0.28 in ratings and 2.4 million total viewers on average.
NBC was fourth in ratings, with 0.31, and third in total average viewers, with 2.3 million. The game show “Capital One College Bowl” competed for 0.24 in ratings and 1.7 million total average viewers. An hour later, at 9 p.m. an episode of “Dateline” drew 0.34 in the demo and 2.5 million total average viewers.
As mentioned earlier, Fox was fourth in total viewership for its “Friday Night Smackdown.” Fifth in both ratings and viewers was The CW, with 0.09 in the demo and 649,000 watchers, respectively. At 8 p.m. was a new episode of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” which conjured 0.09 in ratings and 741,000 total average viewers. At 9 p.m., an airing of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” sketched a 0.1 in the demo and 603,000 viewers on average. Closing out the night at 9:30 p.m. was an encore of the episode, which got 0.09 in ratings and 512,000 total average viewers.
Among the Spanish-language networks, Univision was first with a 0.4 in the demo and 1.4 million total viewers across primetime. “La Herencia, Un Legado de Amor,” which aired from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., received a 0.4 demo rating and 1.6 million total viewers. “Los Ricos También Lloran” got a 0.4 in the demo and 1.4 million total viewers at 9. The night closed out with a new episode of “La Madrastra,” which aired from 10 to 11 p.m. to 0.4 in the demo and 1.2 million total viewers on average.
Telemundo came in second with an average of 0.2 in the demo and 888,000 total viewers. “Exatlón Estados Unidos” which ran from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., captured a 0.2 demo rating and 844,000 total viewers. It was followed by a new episode of “La Reina del Sur” which earned a 0.3 demo rating and 1 million total viewers from 9 to 10. “El Fuego del Destino” closed out the night with a 0.2 demo rating and 711,000 total viewers from 10 to 11 p.m.
