Capcom updated its TGS 2023 webpage by adding Dragon’s Dogma II to the overall lineup. The company’s booth in Makuhari Messe’s Hall 6 will also feature a demo of the game. This will be the first time the public can access a playable demo of Dragon’s Dogma 2, the sequel that is slated to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

When Capcom first announced its TGS 2023 appearance in mid-August 2023, it did not include Dragon’s Dogma II. UPDATE: EB I-10 reopen after overnight bridge demo at Menge Ave. exit - WLOX

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - Eastbound lanes on I-10 near the Menge Avenue exit are now reopen after closing overnight for crews to demolish remaining bridge beams.

The closure follows a similar closure on the westbound lanes in the same area a few weeks ago.

The eastbound closure started Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 9 p.m. and lasted through 5 a.m.

During the overnight closure, eastbound traffic on I-10 was re-routed up the Menge Ave. exit ramp and back down the entrance ramp. Detour signs were in place, and drivers were asked to stay on high alert for roadside workers.

The Mississippi Dept. of Transportation shared drone video taken Aug. 19 to update progress on the overpass demolition work.

The Mississippi Dept. of Transportation shared this drone video updating demolition work on the Menge Ave. overpass on I-10. This video was taken on August 19,

The massive rebuild of this interchange is needed to make way for the 74,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s Travel Center. The overpass will be closed to traffic for 13 months. But the full project - replacing the Menge Ave. bridge over I-10, widening the entrance and exit ramps, and widening Firetower Road - is expected to take 18 months.

Construction on the Buc-ee’s is expected to begin sometime in the fall.

Elon Musk Stops Self-Driving Tesla From Lurching Into Intersection In Demo, Musk Fans Cheer - VICE

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

For 45 minutes on Friday, Tesla and X CEO Elon Musk live-streamed a drive in a Tesla controlled by an unreleased version of the company’s full self-driving (FSD) system. He left the Tesla Engineering HQ in Palo Alto and took a cruise through the city using FSD v12, which is currently unavailable even to beta testers. Musk has called v12 “mind-blowing.” Twenty minutes into the journey, the self-driving car lurched forward into an intersection and attempted to run a red light.

“Ohhh, intervention!” Musk can be heard saying. The phrase is a reference to anytime a driver has to take control from a self-driving system. “Sorry,” he said, and then laughed.

Musk's self-driving car test. Image via X.

According to Musk, v12 runs on neural nets (a term for deep learning AI models) instead of handwritten code. Tesla trained the driving system on hours of footage of traffic lights, turns, and cars on the road. The drive went smoothly for the most part, but at an intersection where Musk intended the car to go straight, the light for a left turn went green and the straightaway remained red. Despite not having the go-ahead, Musk’s Tesla attempted to roll the red light.

The model needs to watch more footage of controlled and uncontrolled left turns, Musk said.

“So with that intervention we just had, the solution is essentially to feed the network a bunch more video of traffic lights,” Musk said in the video. “That was a controlled left turn where there was a green light for the left turn but not a greenlight to go straight. And, so, we’ll feed it a bunch of video of controlled left turns and then it’ll work.”

Dan O'Dowd, a software CEO who wants to ban Tesla’s FSD due to safety concerns, noted the moment on X. “Watch this @Tesla FSD Beta v12 try to run a red light, forcing Elon Musk to take over. ‘Intervention!’ @ElonMusk your defective and dangerous software has no place on our public roads and should be banned immediately,” O’Dowd tweeted.

O'Dowd's Tweet.

As usually happens when someone criticizes Musk on the platform he owns, an army of reply guys with blue checkmarks descended on O’Dowd. They claimed that one incident in a 40 minute video was pretty good and that v12 is still in beta. “Focusing on the 1 negative out of the entire 40 minutes video showcasing mind-blowing improvements...oh Dan” one blue-check user with 119 followers said.

“Mrs. Lincoln, other than that, how did you like the play?” O’Dowd responded.

A community note was added to O’Dowd’s original tweet. “The version of the software demonstrated here is not available to the public,” it reads.

The safety of Tesla’s autopilot and full self-driving systems have come under increasing scrutiny in recent years. Tesla is facing multiple lawsuits in the U.S. this year where plaintiffs allege that autopilot was to blame for the deaths of drivers.

To be fair to Tesla’s self-driving system, making a left turn at an intersection is one of the most deadly and complicated things a human driver does in a car. An overwhelming amount of traffic accidents involve making a left hand turn. Problems with left hand turns are so common that UPS has a policy against them, a restriction that’s saved them on fuel costs and prevented traffic accidents.

Tesla did not respond to Motherboard’s request for comment.

Soulframe shows its true nature in first ever gameplay demo - VG247

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Soulframe has just gotten its first ever gameplay demo shown off at Tennocon 2023, giving fans present in-person and watching online their first proper look at Digital Extreme's next big project.

For a small glimpse of the demonstration, check out this new trailer here!

In the roughly 30-minute demo, we see various fights between the player character and Ode soldiers, exploration through the overworld and a procedurally generated dungeon, a boss fight, and character customisation. A brief glimpse, but one that gives a good idea of what the gameplay loop will be.

In terms of player power, it appears a good-ways less complicated than Warframe. There's no sign of a modding system, instead souls and pacts taking its place. A good thing for those who remain daunted by Warframe's progression systems - although to its credit Digital Extremes has gone a long way in streamlining and simplifying the initial experience for new players.

Soulframe screenshot of ancestor tent
Rom, eat your heart out. | Image credit: Digital Extremes

Also, some surprises! A very Ocarina of time mini-game where players delve into the past of an area, and plenty of environmental interaction that separates the game quite drastically from Warframe - at some points leaning into Dark Messiah of Might and Magic territory which is lovely to see. Kicking folks off bridges and dropping spike traps galore.

There's no release date as of yet, but from the small half-hour demo it's looking like the game is in a pretty good state. Especially considering the Digital Extremes team only started working on the game in earnest last year, according to lead dev Steve Sinclair. Although, you can be sure a lot of work has been done to make this small slice look good for everyone, it's a whole other thing to keep quality up for a whole game!

What do you think of this new gameplay demo for Soulframe? Are you sold on this next big game from Digital Extremes, or are you firmly sticking with camp space ninja? Let us know below!

TennoCon 2023: Soulframe's 30-Minute Gameplay Demo Showcases Its Haunting And Achingly Beautiful World - MMORPG.com

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Announced at last year's TennoCon, Digital Extremes' next game, Soulframe, saw a nearly 30-minute demo at TennoCon 2023. The upcoming RPG showcases some incredible grimdark fantasy vibes in its hauntingly beautiful world.

Soulframe is a more deliberate, slower, pensive experience compared to Digital Extreme's Warframe. Where Warframe is the fantasy of being a space ninja, dispatching hordes of enemies with ease, Soulframe is slower, with combat that takes inspiration from games like Elden Ring and Ghost of Tsushima.

The nearly 30-minute demo today highlighted this fact and pulled the veil back on the world and lore of the upcoming co-op RPG. The island of Midrath is dark yet hauntingly beautiful. During the demo, Digital Extremes showcased a gorgeous forest that looked almost like it was fighting back against the influences of industry in the world around it. As Soulframe's Steve Sinclair said on stage, it's a response to the "anxious" and "angry" world we find ourselves in today.

Despite this, while it definitely evokes some grimdark vibes, it's got cozy elements to it as well. The affable Avakot, a sproutling that points the Envoy the way towards the magick Stag that Ode has Tormented our Envoy is looking for. He's a funny, charismatic vibe that contrasts the darker world around him.

A Tale Of Souls

Taking on the role of the Envoy, players are able to travel between the physical and the soul world. Traveling to the Plane of Souls, players can go to the Nightfold Tent, which acts as a hub to change classes, equip new items and weapons, and even converse with the ancestors you've uncovered in your travels.

Nightveil Tent

Envoys themselves have had their souls taken from them, and so throughout Soulframe Enovys will be reconnecting with the souls of their Ancestors. Over time, the Nightfold Tent will become a village of the Envoy's ancestors, building connections with them over the course of their time in the world.

The Ode has taken the memories, culture, and history from the people of Alca, so creating this bond with the ancestors, it's part of healing that wound.

Soulframe is also a three-stat RPG, with their Virtues helping to dictate the your style in the RPG. Leaning into Courage, Grace and Spirit can help to build up your stregnth, magic and stealth capabilities. This, in tandem with your ancestors, helps to define your skills and playstyle in the RPG.

The demo also showcased some co-op gameplay, with the two Envoys working together to explore the island, tackle enemies, and solve puzzles. However, despite there being co-op, Soulframe is playable solo as well.

Originally, it was announced as an MMORPG in 2022, it's starting to look more like a co-op action RPG hybrid. It'll be interesting to follow this as more development progress is revealed down the road.

Souls-like

Combat was on highlighted throughout the demo, with the Envoy dispatching enemies throughout with a mix of swordplay and magic. Soulframe is clearly inspired by other action RPGs, with a bit of Elden Ring and even flashes of Ghost of Tsushima on display here. Dodging and countering, finding openings, and showing patience looks to be key in successful combat encounters in Soulframe.

Soulframe

You can parry and counterattack with your sword, even chucking it Kratos-style, only to call it back to your hand to fight another day. Magic can also be utilized depending on your build, and looks to be varied from spells that turn enemies to stone to sending a wave of angry earth hurtling towards a group to smash them from underneath their feet.

One of the most impressive displays was when the Envoy set his sword alight, setting enemies ablaze and exploding on impact when thrown. There seems to be a lot of variation to how you approach combat, with even shades of the good old stealth kills that already have my brain spinning with the different stealth builds I want to try now.

Hauntingly Beautiful World

Soulframe's demo really highlighted the gorgeous world, from its incredibly detailed forest area at the start of the demo to the ruins of the Dermak Undercity. It evokes a world in ruin, one where nature is fighting back against the influence of the big bads of the world of Alca, The Ode. They have a sci-fi element to them amongst this fantasy world, with the Collector descending upon a nearby village like an Obelisk ship falling from the sky.

Soulframe

The demo was full of beautiful moments, such as one that evoked The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time where the Envoy pulled out their own instrument to play a leitmotif that ran throughout the gameplay. This unlocked a flashback memory locked away by a crumbled statue, showing a tender yet formative moment for a small girl and stag in the world before the Ode's influence took over.

Animal familiars also come to help the Envoy, from a hulking wolf you can ride as a mount to a small, but tenacious bird that helps to distract and even attack enemies in key moments.

However, probably one of the most beautiful moments came towards the end of the demo where instead of killing Deora, the Envoy set out to redeem her.  Her memories locked away by the Ode, the Envoy defeats Deora, only to send her to the Plane of Souls, saved in the Silvern Sea, shaking her loose of the Ode's influence itself.

However, the final fight of with the Tormented Stag showcased just how hauntingly beautiful Soulframe can be. The music dominating the scene, the fight really ties up the whole demo. It's a stirring fight, where the sound effects are themselves muted, almost as if the Envoy is transported themselves, dominated by the memories of Deora and the Stag himself, as the Envoy seeks to free both from the Ode's influence.

The demo itself highlights an incredible first showing for the RPG, and it's worth a full watch. Some of the final moments of the demo are some of the most moving I've experienced in a while, and it's definitely got me inspired and excited to learn more about the world that the Soulframe team is building.

We still don't know a release window for Soulframe, but even this early look showcases a strong direction and one that I'm sure many are looking forward to seeing when the RPG is finally in all our hands in the future.

Europa's demo channels Journey's gentle gliding and Fumito Ueda's classics - Rock Paper Shotgun

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

A new demo invites you to glide through fluffy clouds and slide down rolling fields in indie adventure Europa. The game’s deceptively dour setup channels Journey and Fumito Ueda’s work, asking you to explore outsized ruins as the last child left alive, but just like those gems, everything in Europa is wrapped up in a gentle atmosphere.

From the initial piano keys, the demo’s “goal” isn’t exactly clear. You enter the pretty world and start climbing. You find an old man’s journal entries talking about how soothing this place once was. You use your fantasy jetpack to solve the lightest of puzzles and reach towering, half-crumbled ruins.

There’s something really tangible about our child’s movement, which is partly where my Ueda comparison came from. There’s a real physicality to how he pulls himself up ledges and jumps using his short legs. It’s not quite as committed to the bit as The Last Guardian - you won’t be tumbling to the floor after tripping on geometry, for instance - but it’s close! Thatgamecompany also surely influenced the game’s movement, as you can collect glowy blue mist while in midair to continue gliding and reaching greater heights. Europa’s not quite so linear, though, since you’re free to linger and search for crystals - slightly turning the game into a mini collecathon.

To see this content please enable targeting cookies.

I really enjoyed the difference between the painterly environment’s epic feel from afar and the character’s cel-shaded style up close (closer to Ni No Kuni's 3D parts) . They combine to make something that feels sweeping and intimate at the same time. Just a very nice place to chase wildlife, skid on lakes and simply exist in.

The game comes from developer Helder Pinto, who was once an environment artist on Overwatch. Future Friends Games are on publishing duties here after their work bringing us Omno and Exo One (also very good games.) You can download Europa’s demo on Steam ahead of its 2024 release window.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central now has a Switch eShop demo in Europe - Eurogamer.net

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Samba de Amigo: Party Central, the Switch instalment of Sega's classic maraca-shaking rhythm game, now has an eShop demo in Europe ahead of its full launch next Tuesday, 29th August.

Sega's Switch version takes the exuberant rhythm-action of the Dreamcast original - where the goal is essentially to orientate your maraca-ing arms to match the position shown on screen then shake in time with the prompts - but slings in new mini-game-like interludes as songs progress.

Additionally, Love Checker mode is back for those eager to gauge their compatibility with a partner based on the accuracy of their maraca-ing prowess, and there's an online multiplayer mode, where the aim is to keep the beat and avoid being eliminated.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central trailer.

Party Central features 40 tracks at launch - mixing series staples like La Samba, Macarena, and La Copa de la Vida with more modern pop hits including Carly Rae Jepsen's I Really Like You and Icona Pop's I Love It - and additional music is set to follow as paid DLC.

Two of those base game tracks - Kesha's Tik Tok and Shake Senora (feat. T-Pain & Sean Paul) - are now available in Samba de Amigo: Party Central's newly released eShop demo, giving players the opportunity to flail their way through both songs on Normal, Hard, Super Hard, and Crazy. This, incidentally, is the same demo that released for North and South America last week.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central's physical release and Digital Standard Edition will cost £34.99 at launch on 29th August. They'll be accompanied by a £44.99 Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game, Sonic Music DLC Pack, and Sega Music DLC Pack.

Samba de Amigo is, of course, keeping busy in the second half of 2023. Alongside its imminent Switch release, a separate version called Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go hits Apple Arcade on the same day. This too features 40 tracks - including three exclusive songs - and, in a first for the series, a Story Mode. Additionally, a Meta Quest Samba de Amigo - described as an "all-new entry" - is on the way at some point this year too.

Stalker 2's Hands-On Gamescom Demo 'Makes Clear The Power Of Unreal Engine 5' - Pure Xbox

Stalker 2's Hands-On Gamescom Demo 'Makes Clear The Power Of Unreal Engine 5'

Developer GSC Game World has arrived at Gamescom 2023 with the first ever playable demo of Stalker 2, and outlets are starting to go hands on with the highly-anticipated Game Pass title this week. One of those is Xbox Wire, where the team has come away suitably impressed by what's playable at the show.

An in-depth preview discussing the chunk of Stalker 2 that's playable on the show floor says that the upcoming title "makes a hell of a first impression", with its Unreal Engine 5 world "packed with detail" - at least from what's been shown so far. Here's a lengthier snippet from Xbox Wire:

"STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl makes a hell of a first impression – the opening moments see your player-character, Skif sprawled across the floor of a rad-blasted forest, looking down, and seeing a mutant dog chewing on their leg. Cue a panic, a jammed gun, and the dog being fortuitously picked up by a nearby atmospheric anomaly and, well, exploding. Like I said, hell of a first impression.

Along the way, GSC Game World makes clear the power of Unreal Engine 5, imbuing beauty to a distinctly nasty world – The Zone (the name given to this alternative Earth’s post-nuclear Chornobyl Exclusion Zone) is packed with detail: abandoned buildings cut through with low, wintry light; threadbare forests broken up by oily, shimmering bubbles of warped reality; and pockets of quiet humanity being scratched out in the wilderness."

The demo wasn't all show, no trousers either. The outlet was impressed with how much of Stalker 2 that GSC Game World made playable, especially for the game's first ever public hands-on demo.

"The most surprising element for a showfloor demo is the freedom you’re offered. Developer GSC Game World makes clear that this is a tiny slice of an enormous game, and still work-in-progress, but barring a short scene-setting conversation with a mysterious stranger – who directs us to speak to some locals – the demo makes no demands of you to do anything other than explore."

Ever since we first locked eyes on Stalker 2 it's been one of our most anticipated Game Pass titles, and although a lot has happened since GSC's sequel burst onto the scene, we're still incredibly excited for its arrival. Oh, and previews like this certainly aren't toning down our hype levels!

Is Stalker 2 a day one play for you as well? Let us know your hype levels in the comments down below.

See you later, Google Translate. Bis später. Hasta luego.

Learning another language is hard work. Meta's new AI translation model is here to do the heavy lifting for you, and you can even try a demo for yourself.

Also: Meta releases big, new open-source AI large language model

On Tuesday, Meta announced SeamlessM4T, the first all-in-one multimodal and multilingual AI translation model that supports nearly 100 languages depending on the task. The model can perform speech-to-text, speech-to-speech, text-to-speech, and text-to-text translations.

Meta claims that the single-system approach of SeamlessM4T reduces errors and delays, increasing the efficiency and quality of the translation.

SeamlessM4T is publicly available with a research license, which allows researchers and developers to leverage and build on the model. However, even if you aren't a researcher or developer, there is a way for you to try out the model, too.

Also: 4 things Claude AI can do that ChatGPT can't

All you have to do is open this demo link in your browser and record a complete sentence you would like translated. For best results, Meta recommends trying this in a quiet environment.

Then, you can select up to three languages into which you want the sentence translated. Once you are done inputting your sentence, you can view a transcription and listen to the translations.

Also: Could you soon be running AI tasks right on your iPhone? MediaTek says yes

I tried the demo and was impressed with the accuracy and speed of the results. Within seconds of recording my audio, the model produced the text translation accompanied by an audio translation, as seen in the photo above.

Because this is an experimental research demo, Meta cautions that it can produce inaccurate translations or change the meaning of your input words. If users experience these inaccuracies, Meta encourages them to use the feedback feature to report the errors so the model can be improved.

Whitesnake's 'Purple Album' Reissue Has Coverdale Audition Demo - Ultimate Classic Rock

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Whitesnake will release a deluxe edition of 2015’s The Purple Album, their tribute to David Coverdale’s three-year stint in Deep Purple, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his debut with the group.

The collection arrives on Oct. 13 as a two-CD/Blu-ray set or a two-LP set. Both are available to preorder now. You can see the full track listing and watch the video for a newly remixed live version of “Burn” below.

The Purple Album: Special Gold Edition will feature a remixed and remastered version of the original album — comprising Deep Purple classics such as “Mistreated” and “Stormbringer” — along with previously unreleased recordings, including the 1972 four-song demo that landed Coverdale the Deep Purple gig. Other previously unreleased goodies include Coverdale’s demo ideas for the 1974 Stormbringer album, alternate mixes of six album tracks, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album and song-by-song commentary from Coverdale.

“I had no idea my mam had the tape,” Coverdale says of the 1972 audition demo in the new liner notes. “For me, to open my mam’s trunk of personal items, 30 years after her passing, was a gift from heaven.”

Coverdale was forced to pull Whitesnake off the road in July 2022 amid their farewell tour due to a multitude of health issues among the band. The frontman still intends to resume the tour, but he doesn’t know when.

"I really don't know [when we’ll be back onstage]," Coverdale told UCR in April. "I'll be 72 this year. But, you know, my passion is that of a much younger man, particularly with the new creative team that I have, working on these legacy projects and also new things at the same time. It's like bluebirds flying out of every orifice."

Starfield Gamescom demo ends with Fallout TV show sneak peek from Todd Howard - Gamesradar

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Todd Howard surprised a crowd assembled for the exclusive Starfield Gamescom demo with a first look at the upcoming Fallout TV show in action. In the footage seen by GamesRadar+, we got flashes of the ambitious Amazon Prime project – the world as it was pre-war, the hot flash of nuclear explosions tearing cities apart, and some stunningly recreated Fallout characters and locations.

Before showing the footage, Howard spoke of his admiration of writer Jonathan Nolan, and spoke passionately about their collaboration on the show. "One of the movies which inspired Starfield is the movie Interstellar, written by Jonathan Nolan – he goes by Jonah. I got to know Jonah, and I always wanted to make a Fallout TV show! So I talked to Jonah about it and we have been making the Fallout TV show that's coming, and we thought we would give you a sneak peek."

Sadly, Howard did confirm that Bethesda "don't ever plan on putting out" this "very early" look at the show in action, but did tease that bigger looks at the show will be coming soon. So, given that this footage may never see the light of day, what should I tell you about?

There were three scenes which really caught my attention: A wall of Brotherhood of Steel soldiers marching against a stark background, the suits rich with detail – rendered as you remember them from the game. There was the tease of one of the most iconic Fallout scenes, as a Vault Dweller held their hand to their face to shield their eyes against the sun as they stepped from a vault for the first time, with an Overseer slamming it closed behind them. And then there was the shootout in a western-inspired town, with the camera pulling focus on a gunslinging ghoul in a cowboy hat.

Honestly, when I learned that a Fallout TV show was in production I was hesitant. It seems like the sort of thing that would be difficult to get right – and we all saw how quickly Westworld began to drag its feet. But this very early tease showed an understanding and respect of the source material, and a willingness to play with the Fallout vibe in a way that really impressed me. Naturally, there's still a lot more to see, and I can't wait to see it all when the show launches in 2024.

Take a look at our new TV shows guide for a look at everything else awaiting us next year.

I Broke A Samba de Amigo VR Demo By Being A Short King - Kotaku

depolitikblog.blogspot.com
A monkey is shown with two maracas and smiling into the camera.

I got some hands-on time with Samba de Amigo: Party Central, and playing Sega’s long-awaited rhythm game sequel on the Switch was fun enough that I’m sure it will satisfy anyone who likes swinging their arms to the rhythm. Waving the joy-con controllers in time with popular songs like “I Really Like You” by Carly Rae Jepsen or, much to my delight, “Escape from the City” from Sonic Adventure 2, was a good enough time that I’m sure anyone who is hankering for a follow-up to the original arcade and Dreamcast games will probably be happy with Party Central. But y’all, it was hard for a short king like myself at Sega’s summer showcase to try the Meta Quest 2 VR version and realize that my small stature basically broke the demo.

To be clear, this is no one’s fault. Well, except for my parents for deciding to get married and have children despite both being 5’5” on a good day. The mishap is not at all indicative of how the Meta Quest version of Party Central runs, or if it recognizes little guys who are rhythmically swinging Mark Zuckerberg-approved motion controls around. But it did make me look like a fool who is bad at rhythm games in a public setting. I was a musician in a past life, had I lost my touch? No, it just turned out the game was not calibrated for a 5’3” Kotaku writer who tried the demo at the end of the preview event after everyone else.

The first thing that should have tipped me off to a problem was how close the UI was to my face when I put the VR headset on. I don’t play a lot of games in VR, so I thought that was normal, but it made the game harder to play on its own. The notes I had to hit were zooming toward me at an alarming speed and while I thought I was moving my arms fast enough to stay on rhythm, it kept telling me I was missing every note on the track. I changed songs and difficulty, thinking maybe I was just not as good at Samba de Amigo as I thought. But still, my every swing of the Quest 2 controllers was met with zero feedback that I was actually accomplishing anything.

After enough failed attempts, I asked the Sega employee running the demo if they’d been dealing with any calibration issues, as that’s my typical course of action when it seems like the timing’s off in games like Guitar Hero. But they had a better idea: We should recalibrate the VR headset’s perceived space. Turns out, the issue wasn’t that I wasn’t hitting the notes, it was that the game had been calibrated for someone much taller than me and wasn’t even registering my motions. After we outlined a new space and range of motion for the headset, everything was fine except for my ego.

Anyway, Samba de Amigo: Party Central is coming to Switch next week on August 29, and the Meta Quest version will launch later this year. Calibrate your headsets, short kings. People over six feet tall may not be able to see us without looking down, but your VR headset should always be seeing you for the tiny monarch you are.

Samsung's 'Try Galaxy' Feature Uses Two iPhones to Demo Z Fold5 Experience - MacRumors

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Samsung today announced the launch of an updated "Try Galaxy" website that's designed to allow iPhone users to experience what it's like having a foldable smartphone.

samsung try galaxy 1
Try Galaxy uses two iPhones to "showcase the benefits" of the Galaxy Z Fold5's large display. For those unfamiliar with the device, the latest Samsung Galaxy Fold has a 6.2-inch Cover Screen that opens out like a book into a 7.6-inch display.

Samsung has long had a web app that demonstrates the customized Android UI that it has developed complete with Samsung apps, but the Galaxy Fold option is new. To use it, two iPhones are required, both with the Try Galaxy app added to the Home Screen. The app can be installed through the Try Galaxy website, which has a scannable QR code.

The web app needs to be launched on both iPhones, and one generates a code while the other accepts the code in order to initiate a sync between the two devices. From there, a "single" screen is split between two iPhones to simulate the Galaxy Fold's larger display.

samsung try galaxy 2

There are a limited number of experiences that customers can choose, and there's only a surface level look at the Galaxy Fold options. Users can play an Air Hockey game, go through a walkthrough on multitasking, or see a video split across two screens. Almost everything available in the multi-screen view is a video walkthrough that is controlled by Samsung, so it's more of a gimmick than anything else.

Samsung often uses anti-Apple marketing, and likes to point out that Apple has no foldable ‌iPhone‌. A recent "On the Fence" campaign, for example, saw Samsung featuring ‌iPhone‌ users jealous of the foldable technology. Samsung has also done a first-to-foldables campaign mocking the ‌iPhone‌'s lack of innovation, and encouraged ‌iPhone‌ customers to "Join the Flip side."

galaxy z fold5 open

Earlier this summer, Samsung launched its fifth-generation line of foldable devices. Rumors have suggested that Apple is experimenting with foldable smartphone technology, but there is no word yet on if or when the Cupertino company will come out with a foldable ‌iPhone‌.

A demo for a fan-made PS1-style Twin Peaks game is available on PC | VGC - Video Games Chronicle

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

A demo is now available for a fan-made Twin Peaks game designed to look like a PS1 title.

Twin Peaks: Into the Night is in development for PC, but a demo giving a taste of the game is currently available on its itch.io page.

Developed by two-man French studio Blue Rose Team, the game looks similar to the original Silent Hill on PS1, and follows the plot of the cult David Lynch TV series.

“Created as an homage to good old ’90s games classics, Twin Peaks: Into the Night is a fan game adaptation of the eponymous series created by Mark Frost and David Lynch,” the demo’s description reads.

“Have a taste of a new gameplay experience that will immerse you directly into the unique atmosphere of the show.”

In a separate message posted to Twitter, the pair writes: “As a quick reminder, this is a free fan game, made by a very small team of two on our free time. Please take this into consideration!

Notice: To display this embed please allow the use of Functional Cookies in Cookie Preferences.

“The project has been passed word to mouth a lot through internet, beyond what we had imagined. It makes things even more exciting for us, yet pretty terrifying at the same time. So, a huge thanks to everyone who will take the time to try the game out, and to everyone who has shared the project.

“This demo is intended to show you the direction we’re taking and we’ve put our hearts at it. We’re already working on next release, a little patience is required and it will come soon enough! We will of course keep in touch with your guys on our social networks to show the progress we’re making on the game.”

The only official Twin Peaks game ever made was Twin Peaks VR, which was released in 2019. An NES game was planned in 1991, but was abandoned in the early stages of development.

Paper Mario-Inspired 'Born Of Bread' Demo Now Available On Switch eShop (Europe) - Nintendo Life

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Publisher Dear Villagers has released a playable demo for its upcoming Paper Mario-inspired RPG Born of Bread, and it's available to download right now on the European eShop (so if you're in another region, get yourself an additional European account).

The game currently doesn't have a release date, so it's actually quite refreshing to be able to play a sample of something that, for now at least, might still be quite a way off. You play as a 'Flour Golem' who must team up with a colourful cast of characters and use his eclectic range of abilities to succeed in combat. Attacks require specific button prompts in order to maximise damage, and of course, knowledge of what your enemies are weak against will also give you a much-needed edge.

Here's some more information from Dear Villagers:

Artistic direction
Unique artistic direction
Born of Bread's visuals are a nice mix of 2D characters evolving in a 3D world.
While the camera angle is fixed like in a side-scroller, the environment features a lot of depth and players are encouraged to explore the vast levels.

A light-hearted storyline
Born of Bread is packed with humor and likable characters.
The storyline while tackling serious topics, such as characters growth and the consequences of choices, always manages to remain joyful and funny.

A wonderful cast of buddies!
Loaf quest will take him to every corners of the kingdom, where he will meet new buddies who will tag along on his adventure.
Each buddy will bring their own set of abilities to the party to help, either in combat or during exploration.

Weapon types
Born of Bread's combat system features different type of weapons with a combination of physical damage types that enemies can resist & special damage types to which enemies are weak to. Find the most efficient combination to overcome villains in style.

QTE turn-based combats
In addition to weaknesses and resistances, each type of weapon comes with a QTE that makes combat more interactive and fun.

We've tried the demo out for ourselves and it's really quite charming. The writing is on point and the combat system is very reminiscent of Paper Mario. We like it!

What do you make of Born of Bread? Have you tried out the demo yet? Let us know your thoughts with a comment down below.
