A Demo For 'Resident Evil 3' Remake Is Coming Soon - OnTechEdge

A demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake is set to drop soon.

The Resident Evil 3 game is set to launch in a few months and fans have been treated to a slew of new information and gameplay videos. Even better, Capcom announced this week that a demo for the game is set to drop within the coming weeks.

Capcom announced the demo in a tweet yesterday (February 25th), confirming that a demo for the game is being worked on. Sharing an image of the game’s cover, the game’s official Twitter account: “It was written in the STARS… A Resident Evil 3 Demo is on the way. We’ll have more details in the near future!”

Since no date was confirmed, it’s unknown when the demo will drop. What’s important to note is that Capcom dropped a demo for its Resident Evil 2 remake two weeks before the game officially released, so we may see a demo for the new game drop around the same time, potentially at the end of March.

It’s already been confirmed that the remake will have substantial changes from the original 1999 survival horror game. Recent leaks have suggested that the game will include new monsters as well as new locations.

The remake will include the new third-person, over-the-shoulder camera angle from the Resident Evil 2 remake. It will also include new content, a more forgiving save system and will be more action-orientated than the original game.

Earlier this week, we reported that newly leaked images showed some of the game’s locations. The images also featured characters and locations from the upcoming Resident Evil Resistance, an online multiplayer mode that will accompany the game and see players attempt to escape from a “mastermind” as they create traps and unleash terrifying enemies.

New Gameplay Details

Alongside news of the demo, new gameplay videos were posted to showcase more of the remake. Gamespot’s Matt Espineli was able to play several hours of the game and called it terrifying.

According to Espineli, the game reimagines the entirety of Raccoon City, giving players a bigger world to explore and try to survive in as they’re chased by the horrifying Nemesis – a variation of the Bio-Organic Weapon (BOW) that Resident Evil 2’s Mr X Tyrant stems from.

Reports state that the Nemesis villain has been completely reimagined and takes more strategy to avoid and takedown compared to Resident Evil 2’s Mr X who chased players throughout the game. Nemesis has been described as unpredictable and “will attack in the least expected places”.

The upcoming game takes place during the events of Resident Evil 2 and follows Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira as they attempt to escape the zombie-infested city while being chased by the unstoppable Nemesis.

The Resident Evil 3 remake will launch in April for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Keep checking back for more details on the game and its demo.
