STERLING – The Democratic candidate for state representative in the 71st District is looking for young voters to speak their minds on political issues.
Joan Padilla, of Sterling, is hosting a "Youth @ the Booth" meet-and-greet from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Champs banquet hall, 9 E. Third St.
Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Padilla, who is seeking to unseat GOP Rep. Tony McCombie of Savanna in November, is executive director at Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Center in Dixon.
Neither woman is being challenged in the March 17 primary.
