However, apart from all those exciting new changes that the demo revealed, it also featured tons of Easter eggs that only the most eagle-eyed Resident Evil fan would be able to see. Posters Referencing Various Films and Capcom Creations

Resident Evil 3's playable demo begins in the subway, which has been converted into a temporary place of refuge for UBCS members and a handful of civilians. Immediately after leaving the train, players will notice a wide array of posters that fill the subway station. It is pretty much impossible to miss them given that players would have to walk past a wall filled with these posters that show fictionalized versions of some of the most popular movies and other Capcom creations.

A couple of posters appeared to look like those from popular horror films such as Alien and Terminator, and another one that features a creepy clown that seems to be inspired by the movie IT. There are also posters scattered around Raccoon City that reference some popular Capcom creations such as a "Science Forum" poster that appears to feature two scientists that resemble Dr. Wily and Dr. Light from Mega Man. Speaking of Mega Man himself, a poster inside a toy store located in the streets of Raccoon City featured the popular Capcom character. However, Mega Man's design in Resident Evil 3 featured the old school one, which showed an adult-looking and traditional superhero version of the character.

What Capcom Really Thought of Resident Evil 6

Additionally, there is another interesting poster that was shown in Resident Evil 3's playable demo that features a fictional movie called "Disaster." Although the poster doesn't appear to be of any interest, eagle-eyed fans noticed just how similar the poster is to the official cover art of Resident Evil 6. Of course, Resident Evil fans would know that the sixth installment in the franchise wasn't received as well as its predecessors. During its release, fans called out the game for trying to be multiple things at once, with its three lengthy main campaigns that attempted to bring both survival horror and heavy action into one game.

Although Resident Evil 6 wasn't a flop, it did not meet Capcom's sales expectations for a Resident Evil game. Since then, the studio quickly switched gears and decided to return to its roots and produced Resident Evil 7, which many believe is the game that brought the franchise back to survival horror. Capcom didn't give any sort of statement as to the disappointing sales of Resident Evil 6. However, this poster found in Resident Evil 3, which is called "Disaster" that bears a striking resemblance to Resident Evil 6's artwork, could be Capcom's way of revealing its true feelings about the 2012 game.

Big E Band

Unsurprisingly, apart from references about films and other Capcom games, the demo of Resident Evil 3 also featured several Easter eggs from the original game. One of which is a poster that is promoting an upcoming concert by the fictional band called "Big E", who is scheduled to perform in Raccoon City on September 30, 1998. Of course, Resident Evil 3 fans would know that the events of the game occurred on September 28, and the t-Virus outbreak began days before that.

Big E is an American rock band that originated in Raccoon City, and after touring the United States, Big E decided to stage a concert in its hometown. However, due to the t-Virus outbreak, the band wasn't able to enter the city, signifying that its members were spared from Raccoon City's eventual demise. Just like the film posters, the Big E promos can be seen all over the city's subway station.

Safsprin and Aqua Cure

Another set of OG Resident Evil 3 Easter eggs that can be found in the demo are posters advertising Umbrella medicines called "Safsprin", and "Aqua Cure." In the original game, one of these medicines would serve as the password to open the vault inside an Umbrella Office where players would obtain the Oil Additive. The names of these medicines can be found when players turn on a TV where a commercial of either Safsprin or Aqua Cure will play. If the commercial showed Safsprin, then that would be the password to the vault and vice versa.

In the demo, both posters of Safsprin and Aqua Cure are seen in what appears to be a pharmacy in Raccoon City. Interestingly enough, a giant poster of Aqua Cure in the demo also contains a password that will unlock the demo's safe containing handgun parts that will give players a laser sight.

Raccoon City Hall Puzzle

Upon reaching the top of the subway station, players who have played the original Resident Evil 3 will see a familiar clock on display. Although the clock is not a 100% replica of the original, it is pretty similar to the clock that was used as a puzzle in the 1999 game that would allow players to unlock the gates of the Raccoon City Hall. The clock would require several gemstones that players could find scattered all across Raccoon City. Now, it appears that the clock only serves as a relic on display in Resident Evil 3 remake rather than a puzzle piece similar to the original game. However, given that the demo does not represent the final build of Resident Evil 3 remake, it is possible that the clock would have more use in the upcoming game.

Stagla Gas Station

Another Resident Evil 3 Easter egg that is present in the latest demo is the Stagla Gas Station, which is where Jill would find some Oil to power up the broken cable car in the original game. In the demo, the station can be found in the alleyway where Jill would encounter her first zombie. Unfortunately, the road leading to the gas station is blocked, but its bright neon lights would allow players to see it from afar.

It's still unclear whether players will be able to visit the gas station in the remake, but it is likely to be a location that players can visit given its significance in the 1999 title. Apart from Resident Evil 3, the Stagla Gas Station was also featured in other Resident Evil games such as the online multiplayer shooter game, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

Resident Evil 3 in Resident Evil 3

Finally, the Easter egg hunt in the demo wouldn't be complete without an Easter egg of Resident Evil 3 remake itself. Posters of the remake, which features its official artwork and some variations of it, can be seen scattered throughout the subway station. In fact, this poster is pretty much what players will first see upon leaving the train, which is Capcom's clever way of reminding players when the remake is set to release.

Of course, unlike the other posters in the demo, this one will probably be exclusive to the preview only, given that having the game's poster inside the game itself wouldn't make sense and would ruin the illusion of reality. Nonetheless, the posters of Resident Evil 3 inside Resident Evil 3's demo is definitely a clever promotional tool on Capcom's part to remind those playing the preview to purchase the game and play it once it's released next week.

Resident Evil 3 is set to launch on April 3, 2020, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
