Amber Mark shares new demo during her 'Covered-19' sessions - Yahoo News

Amber Mark performs at the ACL Music Festival at Zilker Park in Austin on October 7, 2018

Mark launched her "Covered-19" series earlier this April with a rendition of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box," which she recorded and self-produced from her New York apartment.

The singer-songwriter has now unveiled the second installment of her "Covered-19" series, which takes the form of a new original demo that she has likely composed during her time in isolation.

Much like her cover of Nirvana's 1993 hit, "Waiting (Demo)" was entirely recorded and self-produced from Mark's New York apartment during the city's lockdown.

The sultry single arrived alongside a self-directed accompanying visual, in which Mark is seen singing words of devotion from her bed.

"I'll stay waitin' for you/ Any-anything, I do it all for you/ Baby, I'll stay waitin' for you/ I'll stay waitin' for you, yeah/ Anything you want, I do it all for you," she croons in the chorus.

While on quarantine, Mark has been keen on releasing new music to entertain her fans affected by social distancing restrictions.

"For me, making music in the COVID-19 quarantine has probably been the only positive to come out of a tragedy like this. All the pressure I normally feel when working on music is lifted. And I just have this 'f**k it' mentality. I used to stress so much about visuals and the message I was sending with my music. I've learned a lot about myself already during the quarantine. And hope to keep this mentality going when all of this is finally over," Mark said of her "Covered-19" series in a statement.

Aside from her ongoing series of covers and originals, Mark continues to preview her yet-untitled sophomore album.

Details about the much-anticipated follow-up to 2017's "3:33 a.m." are still scarce at this point, although the singer-songwriter gave a first taste of the LP with "Generous."

The Julian Bunetta-produced single notably samples Henry Macini's "Lujon," which appeared in the soundtracks for the films "The Big Lebowski," "Sexy Beast," "W.E." and "Two Lovers."

Mark discussed with Clash Magazine about the genesis of "Generous," which she described as "an introduction to a new realm of energy [she's] been working off of for some time now."

"It expresses a side of myself I hinted at in my most recent EP 'Conexão.' Working with Julian Bunetta I had been wanting to sample Henry Mancini for a very long time. So happy we were able to make a song that feels both sensual and elegant. Perfect for the strip club or afternoon tea, get you a song that can do both hunty!" she explained back in January.
