
BLACKMAN TWP., MI – I-94 is closing Thursday and Friday nights as Michigan Department of Transportation crews remove the M-60 bridge.
The overnight closures begin at 7 p.m. April 23 and April 24. The highway reopens at 8 a.m., and the project is expected to be finished by 8 a.m. Saturday, April 25, MDOT said.
Eastbound I-94 is being closed at the westbound M-60 ramp. Traffic is being diverted to westbound M-60 at the Michigan Avenue exit and back on at eastbound M-60 to eastbound I-94.
Westbound I-94 is being reduced to one lane Friday night and the eastbound M-60 ramp to westbound I-94 is being detoured. Traffic is being diverted to eastbound M-60, then eastbound I-94 to the Airport Road exit where and back on to westbound I-94.
The demolition is part of the $109 million I-94 Corridor Project which started in 2018 to fix bridges along the highway in Jackson County. Up-to-date information on road closures can be found at the MDOT project map.
