Less than a week after expanding COVID-19 testing to all Santa Clara County adults, the county has launched six new testing sites.
In addition to the Verily-sponsored sites at PAL Stadium and the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, announced on May 20, these new sites will help county health officials’ ramp up to the testing levels needed for a continued safe reopening of businesses and facilities.
These six new sites provide tests free of cost. Individuals can get tested whether or not they have symptoms of the virus.
“Please take advantage of this opportunity to get tested in your neighborhood: it’s fast, free and you don’t need insurance,” said County Board of Supervisors President Cindy Chavez.
The county chose the sites based on data showing higher rates of recent cases in each area.
“The County is bringing testing capacity to where it’s needed,” Chavez continued.
County health officials are now recommending that essential workers who regularly interact with the public get tested monthly.
While some of the new sites are temporary, pop-up sites, the county is working on sites that are more permanent.
Temporary sites, available for walk-up testing without an appointment:
- Monday, May 25 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Rengstorff Park Pool Area, Mountain View
- Wednesday, May 27 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Rengstorff Park Pool Area, Mountain View
- Friday, May 29 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – La Placity Tropicana Shopping Center, 1630 Story Rd., San Jose
Drive-thru testing sites available seven days a week, with appointment:
- Milpitas – 1325 East Calaveras Blvd.
- Morgan Hill – 18550 De Paul Dr.
- San Jose – 777 E Santa Clara St.
