CLEVELAND, Ohio – Six men were injured in six different shootings that happened in a 24-hour span, Cleveland police said.
The shootings happened between 9 a.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday, according to information provided by department spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia. The shootings were spread throughout the city, not concentrated in one area.
Here is a rundown of the six shootings, according to Cleveland police:
- A 43-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to his leg and hip around 9 a.m. Saturday, Ciaccia said. The shooting happened at the Hilton Garden Inn, off of Interstate 480 near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. A 25-year-old woman was also assaulted, Ciaccia said. The man and woman were taken to MetroHealth for treatment.
- An 18-year-old man was shot about 9 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of West 93rd and Madison Avenue in the city’s Cudell neighborhood, Ciaccia said. He was taken to MetroHealth for treatment to wounds to his wrist and thigh.
- Around midnight Sunday, a 46-year-old man was shot in the arm and leg near the intersection of West 150th and Puritas Avenue in the Bellaire-Puritas neighborhood, Ciaccia said. He was taken to MetroHealth for treatment.
- An 18-year-old man suffered a minor gunshot wound to his right leg about 3 a.m. Sunday, Ciaccia said. He said he was shot on Payne Avenue, but police did not indicate where on Payne the man was injured. He was treated for his injury at Cleveland Clinic - South Pointe Hospital.
- A 34-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg about 5 a.m. Sunday. He said he was shot near the intersection of East 105th Street and Gooding Avenue in the city’s Glenville neighborhood, Ciaccia said. He was treated at the Cleveland Clinic.
- A 26-year-old man was shot about 6 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of East 144th Street and Glendale Avenue in the city’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood, Ciaccia said. He was taken to Cleveland Clinic – South Pointe Hospital for treatment to a wound on his lower leg.
Cleveland police did not say any arrests have been made in any of the six shootings.
