While Halo Infinite may have been delayed until 2021, players can hop into a reconstructed version of the game's campaign demo made entirely inside Halo 5's Forge world. Halo Infinite's campaign demo was shown during the Xbox Games Showcase in July and was sorely received, but the fan recreation has seen tremendous praise.
On July 23, the first-ever gameplay for Halo Infinite was held during a special Xbox Games Showcase. The footage depicted a work-in-progress build of Halo Infinite and featured a level that players will come across mid-way through the game. The graphics were subpar at best, and many fans were outraged stating that the game looked like a last-gen title. 343 Industries eventually made the decision to delay Halo Infinite's launch until 2021 so that it could deliver a product that players would be happy with.
However, one Halo Forge enthusiast took it upon himself to recreate the entire map showcased during the demo in Halo 5's Forge world. A Twitter user by the name of Infinite Forges published a short video showing portions of their own map which was a recreation of the Halo Infinite campaign demo video. Infinite Forges stated that they built the map within 48 hours of the Xbox Games Showcase. In the tweet, they also stated that they want a shot at joining 343's Forge team, and even replied to the tweet tagging Michael Schorr, the lead designer for 343's Forge team. Schorr replied that the build was, "Very nice!"
Here is the #HaloInfinite Gameplay demo built-in #halo5 Forge as a 4v4 Slayer map. Everything you see excluding the beam tower was built from the ground up within 48hrs of the Xbox showcase.
I just want a shot at joining 343's Forge team🙏🏼

A few days after the initial post, Infinite Forges posted another video showing himself playing inside the demo map. Not only was he exploring the map, but he was also attempting to recreate the Halo Infinite demo video as accurately as possible. While the video does not reenact the entire 8-minute gameplay demo, it does an amazing job of showing how detailed Infinite Forges' recreation is.
The Halo Forge community is incredibly creative, and it has been cool to see the community remain active over the years. And now that a new Halo is on the horizon, the community is hard at work creating Halo Infinite inspired maps. These even include maps that aren't directly related to Infinite's gameplay demo. Seeing the community create their own original ideas for what Halo Infinite could have in store is fascinating, and we can only hope that Infinite's actual maps will be as good as these.
