Union, NJ – A swearing-in ceremony took place Thursday at Town Hall for six new police officers to join the Union police department ranks. New to the force, and beginning the John H. Stamler Police Academy tomorrow, are:
- Randy St. Louis
- Carlos J. Molina
- Rushabh M. Shah
- Kevin J. McDonough
- Raphael A. Rossi
- Thomas J. Kelly
“Tomorrow, you begin an arduous six-months of intense and essential training that will prepare you like no other,” said Union Mayor Michele Delisfort. “I commend you for forging ahead and following your dream of becoming a police officer in the most tumultuous of times, not only for police departments around the country but for our entire nation.”
“In the Township of Union, we practice community policing,” continued Delisfort. Not because it’s a trend, but because, in our experience, it’s proven to be successful. Community policing allows for our residents, our stakeholders and our officers to interact and develop strong mutually beneficial relationships that withstand tough times and allows for two-way communication.”
“Here in Union, we are very supportive of our police department,” said Delisfort. “We stand by UPD.”
