The championship, held this year at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort from August 10-16, features 264 of the best amateur golfers in the world. Golfers will play 36 holes of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday before the field is cut to 64 and the bracket is set for match play that will continue through Sunday's 36-hole championship match. Due to COVID-19 concerns there were no qualifying events for the event and the field was filled through exemptions.
The entirety of match play will be broadcast on NBC's streaming service Peacock or the Golf Channel. The winner of the event receives exemption into the 2021 U.S. Open, the 2021 Open Championship and 2021 Masters Tournament, as well as custody of the Havemeyer Trophy.
SOONER GOLFERS
Jonathan Brightwell, Graduate: Transferred to Oklahoma from UNC-Greensboro where he was named second-team All-America and All-East Region in 2019-20. Brightwell played in the 2019 U.S. Amateur at Pinehurst and is currently tied at No. 96 in Golfweek's collegiate rankings.Riley Casey, Senior: Competed in 22 events as a Sooner throughout his career, with his best finish coming in a victory at the 2018 Puerto Rico Classic. It's his first appearance at the U.S. Amateur.
Quade Cummins, Senior: Currently ranked No. 1 in Golfweek's amateur rankings after an All-American season and will appear in his third consecutive U.S. Amateur. Cummins has been on a hot streak this summer, finishing third at the Southern Amateur and fourth at Sunnehanna. The Weatherford, Okla., product has played in 34 events for the Sooners during his OU career, earning 14 top-10 finishes.
Thomas Johnson, Redshirt Senior: Johnson is set to appear in his first U.S. Amateur, but has appeared for the Sooners nine times over the last two seasons, posting three top-10 finishes.
Logan McAllister, Junior: The OKC product is set to appear in his first U.S. Amateur after a strong summer across the country finishing 21st at the Southern Am and playing well at Sunnehanna and in the Western Amateur.
Patrick Welch, Junior: The 2018-19 Sooner All-America honorable mention is set to play in his second U.S. Amateur after competing in 2018. He tied for ninth at the 2020 Southern Amateur at Maridoe this summer and posted two top-20 finishes in his sophomore campaign in Norman. Welch is tied with teammate Jonathan Brightwell for No. 96 in the Golfweek rankings.

THE COURSE
The U.S. Amateur will be held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort on the coast of Oregon. The golf resort boasts five links style courses but the Amateur will only be played on the primary Bandon Dunes course and Bandon Trails course. FORMAT
Thirty-six holes of stroke play to cut the 264-golfer field to just 64 for match play. Each match will play 18 holes until the championship match, which is 36 holes.WEATHER FORECAST
