The former Ionia County Friend of the Court building which has been vacant since offices relocated to a new addition at the Ionia County Courthouse in the summer of 2018, will continue to be empty for the foreseeable future.

The Ionia County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday voted unanimously to table accepting a bid for demolition of the building at 108 W. Washington St. in Ionia — directly across the street from the courthouse.
