Six of seven suspects in governor kidnapping plot arraigned on state terrorism charges - MLive.com

Six of seven men tied to an alleged plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer have been arraigned on terrorism charges filed by the state of Michigan.

As of Friday, Oct. 9, suspects Shawn Fix, Eric Molitor, Michael Null, William Null, Pete Musico and Joseph Morrison have been charged and arraigned for their alleged roles in the kidnapping plot thwarted by a joint investigation by the FBI and the Michigan State Police, according the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.

The seventh suspect, Paul Bellar, is in police custody in Columbia, South Carolina and is expected to be extradited back to Michigan soon for arraignment in Jackson County.

Fix, 38, of Belleville, was arraigned Oct. 9 in Antrim County on one count each of providing material support for terrorist acts and felony firearms.

Molitor, 36, of Cadillac, was arraigned Oct. 9 in Antrim County charged with one count each of providing material support for terrorist acts and felony firearms.

Michael Null, 38, of Plainwell, was arraigned Oct. 8 in Antrim County charged with one count each of providing material support for terrorist acts and felony firearms.

William Null, 38, of Shelbyville, was arraigned Oct. 8 in Antrim County charged with one count each of providing material support for terrorist acts and felony firearms.

Musico, 42, of Munith, was arraigned Oct. 8, in Jackson County charged with one felony count each of threat of terrorism, gang membership, providing material support for terrorist acts and felony firearms.

Morrison, 26, of Munith, was arraigned Oct. 8, in Jackson County charged with one felony count each of threat of terrorism, gang membership, providing material support for terrorist acts and felony firearms.

Each many was issued a bond of $250,000 except Musico and Morrison who were each issued a bond of $10 million.

13 men face charges in plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, start ‘civil war’

A total of 13 men are accused of plotting to kill police officers, attack the state Capitol in Lansing, abduct Gov. Whitmer and commit other violence with the hopes of sparking a civil war.

The seven men facing state charges are believed to be members of the “Wolverine Watchmen” militia group founded by Morrison and Musico who hosted tactical training in Munith.

The six other men are facing federal kidnapping charges

The federal complaint charges Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta with conspiring to kidnap the governor of Michigan from her vacation home prior to the November election, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Andrew Birge said.

If convicted, the six men face up to life in prison. Croft is from Delaware, while the other suspects in the federal case are from Michigan.

The seven facing sate charges face up to 20 years in prison.
