Bowen was diagnosed with a partial groin tear Thursday and will be out for six to eight weeks.
In what is a relatively serious injury, Bowen will be sidelined likely until late January or early February. That said, he wasn't expected to have a major impact this season, so the Pacers' rotation won't change as a result.
