Six members of the National Soccer Hall of Fame earned recognition on Major League Soccer’s The 25 Greatest list - National Soccer Hall of Fame

Frisco, TX (Dec.  9, 2020) – Six members of the National Soccer Hall of Fame earned recognition on Major League Soccer’s The 25 Greatest list presented by AT&T. MLS announced the list today which honors the brightest stars in league history.

Defender Jeff Agoos (class of 2009), defender Carlos Bocanegra (class of 2020), midfielder Cobi Jones (class of 2011), goalkeeper Tony Meola (class of 2012), defender Eddie Pope (class of 2011) and midfielder Preki Radosavljevia (class of 2010) earned the honor.

“These players helped grow Major League Soccer and the sport in the United States,” said National Soccer Hall of Fame Executive Director Djorn Buchholz. “We appreciate MLS honoring these Hall of Famers. The National Soccer Hall of Fame is a great opportunity for fans of the sport to learn more about the people who helped develop the beautiful game in our country.” 

The National Soccer Hall of Fame is currently open for normal operating hours with COVID-19 safety protocols in place. From Tony Meola’s goalkeeper gloves to an interactive juggling experience led by Cobi Jones, the National Soccer Hall of Fame offers an immersive experience that no other Hall of Fame provides. ABOUT THE NATIONAL SOCCER HALL OF FAME
The National Soccer Hall of Fame at Toyota Stadium opened to the public on November 2, 2018 after calling Oneonta, NY its home from 1983 through 2010.
 
The Hall of Fame marries artifacts, including all four FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophies, and technology such as facial recognition power by NEC and virtual reality to deliver the most personalized experience in sports.

The 2020 National Soccer Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony has been postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Former U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team captain Carlos Bocanegra is the 305th individual to be elected to the Hall of Fame.
