April 19 (Renewables Now) - UK hydrogen energy solutions company ITM Power Plc (LON:ITM) today announced today it has sold a 2-MW electrolyser to its largest shareholder and partner Linde Plc (NYSE:LIN) for a green hydrogen demonstration project in Austria.
Specifically, ITM Power will deliver a HGas3SP unit for the H2Pioneer project, which includes building a facility to produce green hydrogen for use in the manufacturing of semiconductors. It will mostly replace the supply of liquified hydrogen delivered in trailers, the announcements adds.
ITM Power noted that this is its first project in the semiconductor industry.
Earlier this year, the company said that its joint venture with Linde, namely ITM Linde Electrolysis GmbH, will build a 24-MW Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyser plant at a chemicals production facility in Germany.
