Monster Hunter Stories 2: How To Transfer Demo Data To Full Game - The Nerd Stash

depolitikblog.blogspot.com

Enjoying your time with the Monster Hunter Stories 2 demo and thinking now is the perfect time to finally grab the full game? You are in luck because your demo save data can be carried over once you bought the game. It is especially useful if you’ve been farming easy money in the early game or even abused the Anjanath glitch. But if you’re hesitating when transferring your save or simply don’t know how to do it, then today’s guide is made just for you.

1. You Have to Create a “New” Save File First

I think I know one of the reasons that probably made you hesitate to transfer your Monster Hunter Stories 2 demo save. When you first boot up the full game, instead of being asked to load a save file, the game told you to create a new save instead. Well, once the following message appears: “No save data exists. Create a new save data file?”, no need to panic! Just select “Create” and continue to the title screen. Rest assured that even if you select “Create,” your Trial Version save data will not disappear.

Once you get into the main menu, simply pick the “Transfer from the Demo” option on the title screen, choose “Resume”, and you will see your character once again. Considering the Trial Version only allows you to use one save slot (Slot 1) per user account, only save data from Slot 1 will be loaded to the full game. After safely transferring your Monster Hunter Stories 2 demo data, you can uninstall the Trial Version without worry.

2. Don’t Forget to Manually Save Your Data Again

Once you continue from where you left off in the demo or Trial Version, the loaded save data will not automatically overwrite any save slot in the full game. Although the Autosave slot will carry over, you will still need to manually save your data to make it appear in one of three available save slots. Thankfully, even if you play it until the end of the demo section when you leave Hakolo Island, there’s a Catavan waiting for you just straight ahead. Acting as a checkpoint, you can use Catavan to save your progress and acts as a fast travel location.

3. Options Settings Will Revert to Default

After you loaded the Trial Version data, the settings that you changed in the demo will automatically revert to their default settings once you get into the full game. From display settings, camera speed, keybindings/button configurations, to helmet display toggle. You will have to adjust these settings again via the Options menu. For spoken language and/or text settings (English or Japanese), you can adjust them when making a “new” save file or via the title screen’s Options menu.

4. Is It Causing The “Corrupt Data” Error Message for Multiplayer Quests?

Currently, numerous players reported that when they are trying to access any Multiplayer or Co-Op Quests, either by hosting or joining one, they encountered an error message that reads “Corrupt data has been found.” Both Steam and Switch copies are randomly affected. This issue ends up blocking people from playing the multiplayer portions of the game.

A number of people suspected that transferring your Monster Hunter Stories 2 demo save data might be one of the causes of the error. However, several people who bought the game without ever playing the demo have reported on Reddit and Steam forums that they also encountered the Corrupted Data message. With that in mind, it’s safe to say that transferring the Trial Version save file to the full game does not cause the issue. Nevertheless, Capcom itself hasn’t officially responded to this problem; but there is a temporary fix (that might cost you money) and you can read all about it in our Corrupted Data guide.

I hope this guide helps ease your worry when transferring your demo save file. Don’t forget to check our guides on your other favorite games as well, like Genshin Impact‘s Mysterious Voyage Web Event. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is now available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
