The death toll of Monday’s plane crash near the Truckee-Tahoe Airport is now at six, the Nevada County sheriff’s office confirmed.

There were no survivors aboard the Bombardier CL 600 jet that crashed while attempting to land at 1:18 p.m. Monday.

The Federal Aviation Administration had initially said Tuesday that three people had died, and then revised it to four. Wednesday’s update said the dead were four passengers and two crew members.

No identities have been released. The plane burst into flames upon impact, leaving little evidence, and the DNA investigation is expected to take months, authorities said.

TV station KESQ said relatives and colleagues had confirmed that four of those aboard were from the Palm Springs area. They were said to be pilot Bret Ebaugh and three people associated with a La Quinta real estate agency: Kevin Kvarnlov, Ryan Thomas and Christine Thomas.

A flight tracker showed that the twin turbojet was coming Monday from the Coeur D’Alene Airport in Idaho. Several days earlier, it had flown from Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, made stops in Thermal (Riverside County) and Reno, and continued on to Coeur D’Alene.

On its return from Idaho, it crashed into a wooded area near a golf course adjacent to the Truckee airport. No homes were struck and nobody on the ground was injured.

The jet can hold as many as 14 passengers and two crew members.
