Predicting what the Atlanta Falcons are going to do for the upcoming trade deadline is nearly impossible. The Falcons are in a terrible position when it comes to cap space but are built around veteran quarterback Matt Ryan and want to contend now.
Atlanta will likely attempt to straddle the line moving pieces to create cap space while adding a veteran or two to give the Falcons a chance at making a mid-season run.
It isn’t unthinkable Atlanta can climb back into contention at 2-3 Atlanta has a favorable schedule and outside of the Bills and Bucs don’t play a Super Bowl contender for the rest of the season. The Cowboys and Panthers may be the only other playoff contenders on their schedule, two teams, Atlanta matches up well against.
The Atlanta Falcons need to make enough moves to give Matt Ryan a chance to save their season
Atlanta needs to optimize what time Ryan has left and that means making enough moves to give him a chance. Continue to rebuild the defense and add veterans offensively. Ryan can outgun any opposing team on any given Sunday, Atlanta needs to take advantage of this and add another weapon ahead of the trade deadline. Here are five options Atlanta should at the very least explore in week six.
