For tech vendors, there’s nothing quite like the interpersonal client relationships that can be built when demoing a new product in-person. But even before the pandemic, law firms may have preferred both the convenience—and the control—that a virtual presentation affords. In other words, add product demos to the list of things that won’t be returning from the digital space any time soon.
Josias Dewey, a partner at Holland & Knight, noted that prior to COVID-19, most of the face-to-face product demos his firm took were at legal conferences like ILTACON. Since both vendor and client were already in the same location anyway, it made sense to meet up. But that same logic seldom carries over to the law firm’s regular course of business.
